An Taisce will host a public presentation followed by an open discussion on the Southern Region’s draft Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy at Ormston House on 22 February 2019. Once adpoted, this strategy will determine how our city develops over the next 20 years. Ian Lumley (built environment and heritage officer) will lead the event asking the core question: is this a sustainable plan for Limerick?
About An Taisce:
An Taisce is Ireland’s National Trust working to preserve and protect our natural and built heritage. It is an independent charitable voice for the environment and for heritage issues. Its work is focussed on advocacy, education and properties.
The Limerick branch of An Taisce is an active advocate for sustainable, positive development in the city and Midwest region that benefits everybody. Members are equally active in opposing short-sighted and ill-conceived development. They support a strong city that attracts inward migration and investment, and which gives our inhabitants a high standard of living. They keenly want to see the revitalisation of our surrounding towns and villages, and the protection of the local environment.
