National Landscape Forum

 In Uncategorised

Ormston House will participate in the National Landscape Forum 2018 at the Killaloe Hotel, Kincora Harbour. This year’s focus will be on Ireland’s Waterways: “There are few locations on the island of Ireland where water does not feature in the landscape – as streams, rivers, lakes, estuaries, seascapes. How often do we discuss it in the context of an integrated landscape approach? Ireland’s 2018 National Landscape Forum organised by Landscape Alliance Ireland aims to answer this question.” We look forward to presenting our work on the Museum of Mythological Water Beasts and with the European River Cities Network.

The Museum of Mythological Water Beasts has begun an evolving exhibition-environment with new artistic commissions by Andreas Kindler von Knobloch, Tom Watt and Tanad Williams, to be followed by Ann Blake, Chris Boland, Ceara Conway, Mary Conroy, and Emma Fisher over the next five months. The project will also feature an open call via our new Membership Scheme, and objects and artefacts from the municipal collection, extracted through archaeological digs of the River Shannon. You can read more about the project here and here.
