The Limerick Spring: Festival of Politics & Ideas

 In Uncategorised

The Limerick Spring: Festival of Politics & Ideas celebrates the role of the citizen in the political life of Limerick. This year’s theme is the State of Us. With 100 years of perspective, we’ll be asking what we’ve learned and what we’ve left undone since the Proclamation of our Republic. Join us in Ormston House for three special events:

Salon du Chat, Thursday 21 April, 8-10pm

Adding a touch of theatre and the surreal to the art of conversation, Salon du Chat is an arts project with a twist and a shrine to the art of good conversation. Relax with a hot cuppa and a rice krispie bun as you browse a Conversation Menu of topical themes. It’s chat without the chit, it’s speed debating, it’s Salon du Chat.

RumpusKids Workshop, Saturday 23 April, 10.30am-12.30pm

RumpusKids is a special edition of the publication Rumpus and is focused on the theme Home. Join us for a very special media launch run by young people, this will be followed by an art workshop facilitated by Limerick Printmakers and Rumpus curator Kate O’Shea.

Yearning Curve concert, Saturday 23 April, 1-2pm

Bring along your lunch and a coffee and come hear the first ever Limerick performance of songs from Yearning Curves new album Guerilla. Yearning Curve are Cork based agit popsters. Think (Fela) Kuti meets (Woodie) Guthrie in spirit.
