University of Vilnius
Co-Director Mary Conlon is visiting the Kaunas Faculty of the University of Vilnius this week to present Ormston House on the generous invitation of the Institute of Economics, Finance and Management and supported by Erasmus+
Founded in 1579, the University of Vilnius is one of the oldest and most famous establishments of higher education in Eastern and Central Europe. Functioning for a long time as the only school of higher learning in Lithuania, it was a preserver of cultural and scientific traditions, and has played a significant part in the cultural life not only of Lithuania, but of neighbouring countries as well. During more than four centuries of its existence, the University of Vilnius has seen periods of growth and decline, closure and revival. The University is a unique witness to oppressive regimes, ideological resistance, and the history of the Lithuanian state. The University recently succeeded in entering the top 1.5% universities in the world according to the QS World University Rankings2018.
