Heading for Extinction (and what to do about it)

Why is our planet warming so fast? Why do scientists say we have less than 12 years to prevent climate change catastrophe? What actions can we all take to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions?

The planet is in ecological crisis: we are in the midst of the sixth mass extinction event this planet has experienced. Scientists believe we may have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown. This is an emergency.

At this talk Carmel of Extinction Rebellion Ireland will share the latest climate science on where our planet is heading, discuss some of the current psychology around climate change, and offer solutions through the study of social movements.

The aim of this talk is to educate non-scientist audiences about the emergency we all face in an engaging way that everyone can understand and find out what meaningful action can be taken.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
