The Limerick Show: Open Call

Ormston House is seeking submissions to The Limerick Show through our free Membership Scheme for artists. For this local opportunity, we invite members based in Limerick city and county to propose artworks for a showcase opening in January 2022 at Ormston House.

Artists should be based in Limerick, and a member of Ormston House. We welcome submissions from artists who represent the diversity of Limerick’s artistic community, working in any medium, and at any stage of their career.

Artists can submit up to 5 existing artworks for consideration. Please send us one .pdf document (max. 10MB) to, with the subject heading “The Limerick Show”, including:

  • An artist’s statement: tell us about your practice (max. 250 words)
  • A work statement: tell us about the artwork you are proposing (max. 250 words per artwork)
  • Documentation of the proposed artwork(s) (photograph, video, text, sketch, sound file, weblink, etc.) including title, year, medium, dimensions or duration, and installation/technical instructions
  • Other relevant information
  • Biography and CV not required

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 17 November 2021 at 6pm.
Late submissions will not be processed. Submissions exceeding the 10MB limit will not be processed.

Artists will be notified by 10 December 2021, and selected artworks should be delivered to Ormston House in early January 2022 (dates TBC), and available for exhibition until the end of February 2022.

The exhibition will take place at Ormston House, Cultural Resource Centre, 9-10 Patrick Street, Limerick city. We will promote the exhibition and share documentation on our website and social media channels.

The artworks will be selected by the Ormston House team with an independent artist or arts professional. In order to keep administration costs to a minimum and the Membership Scheme free, we will not be offering feedback on individual submissions.

Selected artists will receive a participation fee of a minimum of €100.
