Programme
Féile na Gréine 2026
Limerick’s independent, experimental festival Féile na Gréine returns for 2026, including three performances at Ormston House on Sunday, 16 August. Admission is free, no ticket is required but capacity will be limited.
Dylan Kerr & Weston Olencki will perform at 12.15pm. ‘with sharp bitter lines’ is at its core a set of songs, mostly about loss, coal, and emigration, that trace the unruly tethers between Ireland and Appalachia. Written and performed by Berlin-based artists Dylan Kerr and Weston Olencki, it draws upon their shared interest in the spaces between experimental sound, multichannel synthesis, and vernacular musics. Drawing on the work of folklorists Dolores Keane and Jean Ritchie, ‘with sharp bitter lines’ uses digital string synthesis, voice, an Appalachian mountain dulcimer and a talkbox to reimagine the future lineages of the ballad tradition.
Linda Buckley will perform at 1.15pm. Buckley is a composer who creates electronic and acoustic music, with a particular interest in working across many disciplines. Her NMC record From Ocean’s Floor was featured by Iggy Pop on BBC Radio 6 as “beautiful music – here is somebody really special”. Her work has been described as “sublime and brilliant” (BBC Radio 3), “engaging with an area of experience that new music is generally shy of, which, simplified and reduced to a single word, I’d call ecstasy” (Journal of Music).
She has worked in many collaborative contexts including scoring film by Kathryn Ferguson (Nothing Compares co-composed with Irene Buckley, nominated for Best Score at the IFTA Awards), Mark Cousins (A Sudden Glimpse to Deeper Things), Pat Collins (That They May Face the Rising Sun co-composed with Irene Buckley, Henry Glassie: Field Work) and Tadhg O’Sullivan (To The Moon).
Neil Ó Lochlainn’s Tlú Lín will perform at 2.15pm. Tlú Lín (Ripple) is the latest project from Clare musician and composer Neil Ó Lochlainn. The work is based on new arrangements of songs associated with singers from the Iorras Aithneach area of South Conamara, delicately balancing composed and improvised passages arranged for this acclaimed ensemble of musicians.
The festival runs from 14–16 August. Please see Féile na Gréine’s website and social media for the full festival lineup.
