Upside Down and Underground

In collaboration with the Belltable Theatre, Ormston House presents Upside Down and Underground by Isadora Epstein. This new “variety show from the underworld” is hosted by Epstein and Stéphane Béna Hanly, with performances by dancer Aoibhinn O’Dea; musicians Róisín ní Hacéid, Paddy Critchley, and Mícheál Keating; and DJ Tom Prendergast. Costume design by Amie Egan. Join us at the Belltable Theatre on Saturday, 20 July 2024 at 9pm. Tickets are €10 and available here.

Isadora Epstein writes and makes performances from her research of art history and mythology. Her performances are joyful acts of remembrance which offer up the ridiculous fantasy of immortality through the making of temporary fictional worlds. Living and working in Dublin, Epstein has had performances at Temple Bar Gallery & Studios, RHA, Sirius Art centre, the Royal Irish Academy, the Hugh Lane, and at TULCA. She is a current recipient of the Visual Art Bursary in 2023, was awarded the Constance de Markievicz Award 2019, and received Agility Awards in 2021 and 2022. She recently developed new commissioned performances for IMMA (September 2023), the Joyce Centre (November 2023), and the Mermaid Arts Centre (March 2024).
