Weekend of Words

Ormston House is delighted to host Weekend of Words to mark the fourth birthday of Stanzas gatherings for poetry, performance, music, dance, film, and food. We will host a series of events along with the Record Room for this unique festival in Limerick run by Caleb Brennan, Jared Nadin, Dan O’Malley and Shane Vaughan.

Poetry film workshop with Paul Casey, 11am

Culture & Croissants, 1pm

Lecture series with Iva Yates and Alan O’Driscoll, 2pm

Poetry films from the O Bhéal archive, 3pm

The Big Open Mic with A Man Called Horse, 7pm

Music by Proper Micro NV (aka Rory Hall) at the Record Room*, 10pm

Saturday 21 July, 11am-late

Slam poetry workshop with Nicolas Fitzgerald, 11am

Readings with Tiger’s Eye Theatre, 2pm

Poetry dance with Lucy Dawson, 3pm

Slamzas Grand Championship, 7pm

Dragzas (Stanzas gay anthems in drag) at the Record Room*, 10pm

Culture & Croissants with Mike McGrath, John Carew and music by Avia Gurman
