Arts & Business NI Artist Studio Programme

 In Uncategorised

On 6 June 2025, Ormston House curator Niamh Brown, alongside Dr. Jane Morrow, will lead a workshop as part of Arts & Business Northern Ireland’s Artist Studio Programme.

This initiative, in partnership with Belfast City Council, aims to support artist-led spaces which shape Belfast’s cultural landscape. Through tailored training, mentoring, and peer learning, the programme will help these spaces build strong foundations for the future.

The workshop will be based on Ormston House’s A Matter of Value: A blueprint for articulating the value of the artist-run, written by Brown, Morrow, Dylan Ryan, and Ashling McGrory. Brown and Morrow will discuss the publication’s practical mechanisms for communicating the inherent and sustained value of artist-run initiatives.

This blueprint was developed as part of the Creative Europe project, Artist-Run Network Europe, through a series of research laboratories, training opportunities, and meetings between 2021 and 2023.

Physical copies of A Matter of Value are available onsite and from our eShop here for free (excluding post and packing). Digital copies are available here.

A Matter of Value was developed across a series of research labs, led by Ormston House, as part of  the Creative Europe project, Artist-Run Network Europe (2020–2023) and co-funded by the Arts Council of Ireland and Limerick Arts Office.
