Anita Delaney will discuss her current exhibition at Ormston House with Adam Pugh on Friday 7 November 2014, 6pm. DRINK THE LIQUID, EAT THE SOLID is Anita’s first solo exhibition in Ireland and features five new and recent video performances. Delaney precisely constructs each scene, selects and combines the footage, and builds layered treatments of disquieting yet funny compositions.

Anita Delaney completed a BA in Animation in 2005 and a BA in Fine Art 2006, both IADT, Dún Laoghaire. In 2011, she completed her MA at Chelsea College of Art and Design, London and since then has exhibited extensively including Must Go On, Rua Red, Dublin (2014); Ceri Hand Summer Fête, Ceri Hand Gallery, London (2013); Norwich Outpost Open Film selected by Adam Pugh and Jesse Ash, Norwich (2013); RHA Futures, Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin (2013); Bloomberg New Contemporaries at the Liverpool Biennial and the ICA, London (2012); AND, FACT Liverpool (2012); Studio Voltaire members show curated by Jenni Lomax and Mike Nelson, London (2012). Forthcoming shows in 2014 include DRINK THE LIQUID, EAT THE SOLID, Ormston House, Limerick, and Handjob, Embassy Gallery, Edinburgh.

Adam Pugh is a curator and writer based in Norwich, UK. Previously director of Aurora, an annual festival which focused on artists’ moving image, he has since worked on projects for the Barbican Art Gallery, London Film Festival, Outpost Gallery and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, amongst others; and established the curatorial platform Promontories as a means to present projects, screenings and publications. As a writer, he contributes regularly to Art Monthly, and has in the past written for Tate, thisistomorrow and others. He has devised and delivered a course around artists’ moving image, Forking Paths, Mirrored Chambers, at LUX; and has delivered talks and served on international juries for various festivals and events worldwide, including Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen and Courtisane, Ghent.
