Job Description:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Artistic Director is a senior management position with responsibility for the efficient management of all aspects of the work of Ormston House. They develop and deliver the artistic programme in collaboration with the curatorial team. They lead on applications for funding and the effective management of grants and stakeholders. They foster positive relationships with cultural, educational, and funding bodies, including the Arts Council of Ireland, Limerick City and County Council, and key organisations in Ireland and beyond. They liaise regionally, nationally, and internationally with artists’ resource organisations and with all relevant national agencies.

They ensure the organisation meets the highest standards of governance practices and health and safety. They oversee the documentation and evaluation of the organisation’s work, and they fulfil and anticipate conditions attached to funding and grants. They are responsible for best practice procedures and liaising with all government bodies.

The Artistic Director oversees financial controls and works with the team in the development of quarterly management accounts. They liaise with Ormston House’s bookkeeper and accountant, who manages the annual audit and preparation of financial statements. The Artistic Director oversees the updating of budgets, manages income and expenditure, and ensures robust financial management strategies and long-term sustainable financial planning, all in consultation with the bookkeeper and with the approval of the Board.
