Claire Beck
For this month’s episode of The Limerick Lady podcast, Ann and Emma meet remotely with boat-dwelling DJ and Today FM presenter Claire Beck. A stalwart of Irish radio, Claire tells our hosts about getting her start in pirate radio in her teens. The three talk about about language, intention and cancel culture, followed by the evolving nature of Pride and the importance of being strong allies to marginalised communities.
The Limerick Lady is a grassroots movement aimed at promoting discussion around gender, gender balance, and the visibility of women artists. The Limerick Lady podcast was launched in 2018 co-hosted by Emma Langford and Ann Blake with support from the Limerick Post. They have interviewed a diverse range of guests including Jenny Blake, Sinéad Carey, Dr. Sindy Joyce, Emer O’Toole and Kathleen Turner. Ormston House sponsors The Limerick Lady podcast as part of our artistic programme for The Feminist Supermarket.
