Ormston House will participate in LUFT – an international networking event in Berlin to highlight and connect the European artist-run scene. Eighteen initiatives from Limerick, The Hague, Stockholm, Riga, Copenhagen, Frankfurt and Berlin will present their organisations to promote their activities and begin new collaborations.

LUFT is part of the Creative Europe project Artist-Run Network Europe which aims to strengthen the self-organised artist-run sector in Europe, with a focus on local and international cooperation. We want to raise the visibility of artists’ initiatives in the professional art world, and to enhance the accessibility of the independent scene. In a multi-layered format, the project bridges the gap between European cultures and artists at different stages of their careers. It promotes international collaboration and mutual respect, and emphasises innovation within the artist-run movement.

Participating partners and artist-run initiatives: Candyland, Stockholm (SE); Ormston House, Limerick (IE); The Syndicate of Creatures, Copenhagen (DK); The Alternative Art Guide, The Hague (NL); Totaldobže, Riga, (LV); Artist-Run Alliance, Berlin/Tel Aviv (DE/IL); and Eulengasse, Frankfurt a.M. (DE). From Berlin: A-TRANS; Kulturhaus Bouché; Organ Kritischer Kunst (OKK); Group Global 3000; Co–Re | Ummu; Art Laboratory Berlin; Galerie Toolbox; Hilbertraum; Lichtenbergstudios; Nationalmuseum; and  >top – Transdisciplinary Project Space.

LUFT will take place from 10-11 September with a schedule of talks and events. The fair is organised by Kim Dotty Hachmann and Matthias Roth from >top e.V. with the support of the Netzwerk freier Berliner Projekträume und –initiativen. ARNE is co-funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe and the Creative Europe programme of the European Union. The participation of Ormston House is further supported by the Creative Europe Desk Ireland at the Arts Council of Ireland and Limerick City & County Council.
