International Women’s Day 2018
The Limerick Women’s Network and The Elephant Collective join us on International Women’s Day for a morning of visual art, dancing, role-play and more. The event will include a new dramatised reading with Moyross Community Drama and Moyross Threads in response to the exhibition: Picking Up the Threads: Women’s Lives Remembered – Remaking the Fabric of Care to Learn from Maternal Deaths.
Tea, coffee and a light lunch will be served.
Admission is free and donations to the Limerick Women’s Network are welcome.
About the Limerick Women’s Network:
The Limerick Women’s Network provides information on a range of events and services for women and women’s groups in Limerick City. Key aims of the network include information on access to education and training; networking opportunities for women’s groups; awareness-raising events and information sessions; support for women lobbying issues that affect them; and access to meeting space and use of facilities.
About the Elephant Collective:
The Elephant Collective is a group of educators, midwives, activists and students who have come together to raise public awareness of the need to legislate for automatic inquests following all maternal deaths. The Elephant Collective is so called because when the elephant is giving birth, the herd surrounds her to keep her and her calf safe.
