Programme

A colour image of a figure at night, dressed in a t-shirt, black blazer, and white-fur cloak. They are shown holding a mask made from cardboard and straw, wearing black face-paint and a crown of coloured lights on their head. They appear in front of a bridge full of onlookers, as well as a huge, illuminated puppet of a ghoulish-figure.

Lumen Street Theatre

Ormston House will host Lumen Street Theatre for a week-long residency in the lead up to Samhain – Limerick’s Hallowe’en Festival. Lumen collaborates with local community organisations to co-create work that inspires pride and ownership of our cultural identity through education and street spectacle. This year, the festival returns to the streets of Limerick with a live outdoor parade, and events in venues across the medieval quarter of Limerick city including the Curraghgour Boat Club, Jack Monday’s, King John’s Castle, and Treaty City Brewery. Samhain celebrates Irish culture focusing on Limerick heritage and traditions surrounding Hallowe’en, with community involvement and public participation at its core.

This year’s programme will take place from 27 to 29 October 2022, and includes the vampire swim, storytelling with Eddie Lenihan, the Death Café, and performances by Limerick Youth Theatre and Sing Out with Strings. You can download the full programme here.
