Ormston House is delighted to host a Workspace Special with Vera Mota, artist-in-residence at EVA International as part of the Creative Europe project, Magic Carpets. Please join us for lunch this Thursday to meet the artist and to hear about her work and experience of Limerick during her residency.
About Vera Mota:
Vera Mota’s practice is rooted in performance, sculpture, drawing and installation. Her work identifies with minimalist principles, and contains common traits that point to a conflict between a quest for order and a simultaneous fascination with the possibilities of error and accident. By means of simple action, she highlights the physical qualities of carefully selected materials.
Vera’s works have be featured in exhibitions at the Forum Engénio Almeida (Évora, Portugal), Centro Cultural Vila Flor (Guimarães, Portugal), Galeria Municipal Almeida Garrett (Oporto, Portugal), SESC (São Paulo, Brazil), Sismógrafo (Oporto, Portugal), Matadero (Madrid) and Fundação de Serralves (Oporto, Portugal) among others. She is represented by Pedro Cera Gallery, Portugal.
