Kunstverein Aughrim: Creative Producer Programme
The Creative Producer Programme is an initiative by the curatorial production office Kunstverein Aughrim, designed to establish a network of six creative producers and freelance curators working in the visual arts. As a partner organisation, Ormston House will hold a session on 7 October to facilitate knowledge-transfer and peer learning.
The overall programme will include ten training days, five development days, and a five- to ten-day trip to the Netherlands during de Appel Curatorial Programme’s Lumbung Harvest Festival. Participants will also dedicate a period of time to a practice-based placement. Critical reflections, specially-commissioned texts, and content from training workshops will be published as a Creative Producer Handbook in the final months of the programme.
Kunstverein Aughrim is a curatorial production office for contemporary art projects, located on the ground floor of a townhouse in the village of Aughrim, Co. Wicklow. It is Ireland’s first art initiative based on the European model of a kunstverein (from the German word kunst meaning ‘art’ and verein meaning ‘club’ or ‘association’) and is part of the franchise established by Kunstverein in Amsterdam, with sisters in Milan, New York, and Toronto.
Kunstverein Aughrim’s Creative Producer Programme is supported by The Arts Council of Ireland through the Creative Production Supports scheme.
