Culture Night 2016

 In Uncategorised

Join us on Culture Night Friday 16 September 2016 for Mini-tours of Vestiges by Ursula Burke and Hands-On Bread-Making Workshops with Culture & Chips.

Mini-tours of Vestiges, 6-8pm

Join the Culture Team at Ormston House for mini-tours of Vestiges, a solo exhibition of sculptures by Ursula Burke, commissioned in response to the commemorations of the 1916 Rising. Based in Northern Ireland, a region consistently working towards peace, Burke explores the ever-changing schism between idealized forms of civil life and reality in a post-conflict society, continuing a theme at the heart of her work.

Hands-On Bread-Making Workshops, 6-8pm

Culture & Chips – Limerick’s Quirky Food Carnival – are back at Ormston House on Culture Night for hands-on bread-making workshops. Join us for short 15-minute sessions to learn traditional food skills and to enjoy the smell and taste of your own fresh bread. Workshops are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and suitable for all ages.

Admission is free & all are welcome.
