Limerick Feminist Network
Are you interested in joining the Limerick Feminist Network? Ormston House will host a casual meet and greet on Friday 6 March, 6-7pm. New members are welcome.
The Limerick Feminist Network was set up in 2014 with the view of strengthening the feminist community in Limerick city and county. They are committed to the advancement of gender equality and women’s rights. Their methods include raising awareness on issues of inequality, holding regular meetings, community engagement and activism, running campaigns and promoting discussion and open dialogue with their members.
LFN believes it is paramount to create a safe space for feminists to express themselves and explore what feminism and equality mean to them. Some of the campaigns the Limerick Feminist Network have worked on include Good Night Out Limerick and the Morning After Pill. They also organised the Limerick I Believe Her Solidarity Rally that took place in the aftermath of the Belfast Rape Trial and spent a significant amount of their time working on the Repeal Campaign. Some of their previous meetings include topics such as Everyday Sexism, Women of the 1916 Rising, Symphysiotomy and tackling Violence Against Women.
